This is probably the only existing GPS map of the Svalbard territory (including Bjornoya and Hoppen). The GPS-receiver is one of essential tools for people who stay, visit or work on Svalbard. Most of GPS units display digital (vector) maps. Unfortunately, the population of approx. 2 000 living on Svalbard does not make up a sufficient market for companies producing digital maps. I do not have to convince anyone that there is a need for a digital map of this territory. Therefore if something is needed and it is impossible to make money on it, it should be made for free. That is why I decided to take this task upon myself for your benefit. 

This map was created for your safety and comfort of your work, education, and leisure time. But before making use of it you have to read section technical info/how to use which contains very important information. Remember, it may save your health and life. 

Svalbardmap is absolutely free. I have devoted six months of my life to create it. Should you use it for commercial purposes and earn money on that, please support financially this project. Collection of materials, field testing of the map and maintenance of the server cost me quite a lot of money. Not to mention the time I have spent on collecting and preparing these materials and creating the map itself. Thank to your support I will be able to further develop and improve this map.
